Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am a descendant of the Jaffray/Smith family
(requested on 15 11 2017)
I am researching the families of persons interred in the Scottish Cemetery, Calcutta (now Kolkata) on behalf of Kolkata Scottish Heritage Trust. William Jaffray, the first name on this stone, is actually interred in Calcutta, having died there on 09 Dec 1849 (not 1846 as stated here). After his death, and the death of some of the children, his wife moved back to Scotland with her 2 surviving sons, William and Alexander John.
