Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Hi , I would like this image, as Elizabeth Motherwell /Philip was a relative of my husband. I have been researching his family history which is fascinating. I would love to travel to Edinbugh to gather more information about her life while there but currently because of family commitments and the cost involved that is not possible. I would greatly love to see the image of this monument. Kind regards and thank you for the wonderful work you do, Debbie Dow

Robert Philip was (like Alexander Philip in Kandy, whose photo I have also requested) one of my great-uncles. He was a physician at Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary and became the first Professor of TB. He set up the first TB Dispensary in Edinburgh and worked hard to convince people that TB was an infectious disease and not a hereditary one.
