Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

William Charles Maughan (1836 - 1914) was the author of Annals of Garelochside (Paisley: 1897), Roseneath, Past and Present (London: 1893), and several other titles. The image of his gravestone will be a valuable addition to my bibliographic file devoted to the historians of Scotland. Information about Maughan is difficult to acquire. Any use that I make of the image will acknowledge your contribution to my research. For your service, I thank your in advance. // J. C. Marler, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy and the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Saint Louis University, USA - St. Louis, Missouri.
