Lt Col K M Downie
son-in-law of James OgilvieLieutenant Colonel Kenneth Mackenzie Downie was the second and only surviving son of the Reverend Charles Downie, Minister of Contin, Ross and Cromarty. He was born in Dingwall on 15 July 1845 and joined the Bengal Medical Establishment as an assistant surgeon in 1868. Shortly before he retired in 1893, he was promoted to Surgeon Lieutenant Colonel. He married Margaret Ogilvie on 6 December 1892 at 18 Buckingham Terrace, St George, Edinburgh, and died on 17 February 1912 at Cannes, France.
