Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I was delighted to find this online, as I have been trying to discover who Elizabeth Johnstone was descended from. John Ritchie was a newspaper proprietor and he and John Ritchie Findlay owned The Scotsman. Peter Findlay's dates are 1800 - 1850. Elizabeth was born in 1797, but she was still alive in 1851, 1830 must be worn as it is incorrect. Wendy

My paternal grandmother was a Findlay, related to Peter Findlay who was married to Elizabeth Johnstone, a niece of John Ritchie, first proprietor of the Scotsman. Any further details you might know about the Johnstone / Ritchie kinship would be very much appreciated !

I am sure that this woman is my husband's grandmother, Elizabeth Finlay McLean through his mother, Eliza Jane Ross McLean. I previously requested a photo of a Daniel Finlay but I see now that he is not for whom I was looking. You don't need to send it if it is not too late. Thank you, Mary Potts
