Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I have kinship with the family, in the sense that Agnes Dick (Baxter), was the wife of Alfred Whitwell (1839-1871)a distant cousin. Alfred was a shipping agent working in Bombay, who recklessly and criminally arranged for one of his ships to be destroyed in order to make an insurance claim on the loss. He was caught, convicted and imprisoned in Bombay where with twelve months, he died, aged 31. This caused a great deal of grief to his parental family, who were devout Quakers from Kendal in Cumbria. Naturally, I find your site both fascinating and informative and would be grateful if you might allow me to see a copy of the gravestone image for Agnes and her daughter and son in law. If at some future time, I am able to assist with your project, I should be happy to do so.SincerelyCharles E. G. Pease
