I would like to have this image in order to illustrate my family history database: the J Brock and A Brock mentioned on this gravestone have to be John Brock and his wife Annie (nee Shipcott) who are relatives of mine. John Brock is the son of my great great grandfather, Samuel Brock(1815-1895) of Monkleigh, Devon. John Brock married Annie Shipcott in January 1870 in Monkleigh. Their first child, Walter Josiah Brock was born, and died, the following year, as the gravestone (and civil registration) show. James Shipcott is Annie's brother. His exact birth date is 13 Aug 1842; his parents were from Long Down, Holcombe Burnell and both James and Annie were almost certainly born there. it is about 35 miles from Bideford.
