Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Ron was my Nana's nephew (her Brothers son) and she would take me to his grave as a child. I lived in Newbury Park and took my children to his grave and told them his story. I have since moved to the north of England and despite having a picture of him, I often think about who looks after his grave (especially at this time of year).

Hello. I am Ronald's nephew. I am Kenneth Smith's son (Ronald's brother). Our family history is rather unknown to me & my siblings so any additional information would be interesting. My understanding was that Ronald died from head injuries when the Lancaster he was in crashed into the sea off the coast of Ayr in Scotland in September 1943. It would be nice to get in touch with anyone who knows more. dlhsmith@hotmail.co.uk Best wishes, David Smith.
