The first Robert Harper on the gravestone was my 4 x great-grandfather. Curiously, one of his sons, not my ancestor, was an early settler in the country district I grew up in in New Zealand.These Harpers scattered far and wide with the Scottish diaspora and colonisation: Jamaica, India, New Zealand, Australia, ...
