Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

This is my Great Great Grandfather. His son the Rev Gilbert Jamieson Meikle became presbyterian minister in Inveraray for over 50 years. I have pictures of his grave in Inveraray. I live in Sussex but hope to make a visit to Inveraray and Edinburgh next year. An aunt in the 1980's traced Meikle's back to a Henry Meikle 1582 in the churchyard in Abercorn between Hopetoun and Dalmeny - wherever they may be!! I shall look them up. Regards Ian Meikle

Hi I am in the process of researching my family tree. The information on this stone is the earliest records I have of my Great-Great-Great grandparents, George Meikle and Mary Jamierson and my Great-Great-Grandad William Meikle. I also wondered if you would know of any way I could trace the parents of George Meikle, this would be about c1780 Look forward to hearing from you many thanks Carrol
