Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am very interested in my family ancestry. Mary Doughty (wife of Frederic Proby Doughty) was apparently a sister of my mother's ancestor William Munnings Arnold (1819-1875) - he emigrated to Australia and became a prominent member of the NSW state parliament. The history of my Arnold ancestors in Suffolk in the 18th and 19th centuries is very interesting and intersects with the Doughty and Aldous families. Tracing the Arnold family is complicated because certain Christian names recur generation-after-generation, and often the wives' maiden names are hard to find. I have spent many hours trawling the internet seeking missing details (dates etc), with reasonable success.
