Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am researching the life of Mary Unwin, later Mary Cathcart (1844-1922). Mary Unwin was the niece of Arabella Southouse (formerly Arabella Unwin), who was her late father’s sister. Arabella was married to the Reverend George Wrenford Southouse. He was a trustee of Mary’s parents’ marriage settlement. Mary and her widowed mother visited George and Arabella Southouse several times and may even have lived with them for some time. Their presence in the household is recorded on the 1861 census.
