Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Margaret Thomson Born 1829 was the daughter of James and Betsy Thomson. John George Foulis Born February 28 1830 son of Stewart Foulis and Marjory Foulis. Margaret and John George were married on October 26, 1850. Margaret passed away January 5, 1878 at 11:00pm at Newbigging. They resided at House # 2 Newbigging. George T Foulis was their son. He later immigrated to Collingwood Ontario Canada. My Great Grandfather John Foulis Born 1854 son of John George and Margaret had immigrated with his wife Ann Groat their children and two sisters Euphemia and Marion Isabella in 1891 to Collingwood Ontario Canada. After Margaret Thomson/Foulis passed away, John George age 46 married Jane Hume age 27 daughter of James and Ann Hume of Kirkhouse Papa Westray on December 23, 1880. The 1981 Census shows them living at Newhouses Papa Westray. I currently do not have a death record for John George. I will be travelling to Papa Westray in August 2026 to continue my genealogy.
