William & Jean Duncan Bisset are the parents of Jean Bisset, who married John Purves June 12 1799 in Parish of Canongate, Old Kirk parish. Their daughter Jane Purves came to Canada in 1835 with her husband John Thomson (m.Mar. 3, 1827) and they built a beautiful stone house in what is now Whitby Ontario Canada. They had nine sons and one daughter. Jane's parents, Jean Bisset and John Purves came to Canada with them and all are buried in a family plot in Union Cemetery in Oshawa Ontario. The Thomson's many descendants are all over the country. My maiden name was Thomson.
