Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Louis is the reason I got interested in genealogy. He was involved with a famous Victorian murder case, and his sister-in-law (also caught up in the murder case) married into my own family. Louis has been hard to research (he changed his name) so I was delighted to discover where he was buried.

Louis is a distant relation of my mother

I'm researching a murder that occurred in Penge in 1877. Louis Adolphus Edmonds was really Louis Adolphus Edmund Staunton who, with his brother, sister-in-law, and alleged mistress were tried for starving Louis' wife Harriet to death. Louis served about 20 years in gaol for the crime.
