Maude Louisa Ward is a sister of my maternal grandmother who died at a very early age long before I came along. NB. Ephraim James Ward whose name also appears on the headstone was her brother. I know from his military record that he was killed in WW1 ... on Sunday 31 March 1918 (not 1916) as per your records. His name is inscribed on the Pozières War Cemetery memorial as he has no known grave. I guess therefore that his name was also inscribed on his sister's headstone in Fremington so that he would be remembered at home too.
