Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am researching re the P & O Cargo ship Tresillian. The ship sank off southern coast of Ireland in on the night of 29th-30th November 1954. My researches indicate that Donald MacNeil was the ship's Radio Operator who displayed great courage for which his name was added to the Marconi Memorial in Battery Park, New York.
