Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am the great great grandson of John Cameron. My father took a photograph of the gravestone about 25 years ago. It should have Glasdair(English version of Glas-Dhoire) on the top of it, the place and name of his home on the banks of loch lochy. This is also where my great Grandfather the Rev Allan Cameron DD was born (1847). He was minister of East Church, the united free church, in Inverness for many years and the father of the Rev Robert Theodore Cameron DD. I am interested in tracing the parents of John Cameron (b 1800). One of my distance relatives believes his father was Colonel John (fassiefern) Cameron (born 16 Aug 1771) (died 16 June 1815) and his mother was Mary MacColl (Mairi Ruagh). However, books of Colonel John Cameron do not mention his marriage or of him having a son. Therefore I was interested in trying to establish this fact. My father spent about 10 years researching various family trees but could go no further back than 1800. If you can't assist me on this matter do you know someone who can? Please let me know how I can help you. Many thanks Allan Malcolm Cameron
