Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am researching the victims of the Forfarshire steam packet disaster in 1838. One of those named on the monument is amongst those who died in the disaster. This is an important records as there are two people of similar names, one of whom survived, so the memorial to the deceased is missed in the history books.
