Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I have an Ordish marrying a Bancroft on my tree. By the way, two typos on this page - it should be vetted not veted and there is a recieve instead of receive. An interesting and useful site! Regards Geoff Mather

Thomas Bancroft of Swarkstone is my ancestor, though the first ancestor of the same name that I know of was Thomas Bancroft 1570-1627 who married Rebecca Errington 1574-1639. His father supposedly was Ralph Bancroft of Chellaston. (there is apparently a monument to him at St. Peter's Church) My Bancrofts ended up in Massachusetts and then Montreal, Quebec. I'd love to come research my family in England so this service is wonderful. Thanks so much for your help!

My ancestry tree has also led me to Thomas Bancroft (1570-1626/27), husband of Rebecca Errington. Available records indicate he was buried in S. James Cemetery.
