DeLamater who owned the DeLamater Iron works in NYC. The iron works built the engines of the USS Monitor (ironclad) and was the cradle of the modern navy during the Civil War. Laura and Curt had one child, Oakley, who later charged his surname to DeLamater after Laura moved back to NYC after Curt's death. |
