Joseph Caillaux	1944	79	1865	son of Eug�ne Alexandre Caillaux	A leading Radical Republican politican; who presided over the French government from 1911-1912. He created income tax in France. In 1914 his wife assasinated the editor of 'Le Figaro'; and Joseph was forced to leave politics to defend his wife; with the collusion of the French president; Poincar�. His wife was acquitted; but Joseph himself was accused of collaboration with the enemy by his rival Clemenceau in 1918; but also acquitted. He regained ministerial office between the world wars (including as Minister of Finance); and remained a French Senator until 1940.
C�cile Anna Caillaux nee Donnet	1898	73	1825	wife of Eug�ne Alexandre Caillaux	First husband: Ma�tre Girard. Donnet was a devout Protestant; and her marriage to the nominally-Catholic Caillaux required a religious compromise.
