John is listed as a widower. His previous wife is uncertain but may have been Frances Smith of Braunton, marriage 1779. John and Mary had at least four children, maybe six.He died 10th March 1828.

1890761814son of John PhillipsWilliam Phillips was born December 1813, christened on the 25th of that month. He was the son of John Phillips and Mary Phillips (nee Pope). He worked as a blacksmith in Westdown. He married Charity Lamerton of Weare Giffard 11th October 1836, and they had seven children, at least one of whom died in infancy. William died in 1890.
