Benjamin Randall grave monument in Holy Trinity Church burial ground, Claygate, Surrey, England

My maternal grandfather Edmund Randall is buried at the church, also his wife at Claygate, she died in 1912 and he about in about 1925, leaving my mother an orphan. They lived in Coverts Lane, he owned a pair of semi detached houses. Possible it was 16/18. At that time there were several Randalls living in Claygate. Maybe the man mentioned below is a relative . In Memory of Walter Edmund Randall Private 16438 8th Bn., Oxford. and Bucks Light Infantry who died on Friday 6 December 1918. Age 24. Son of Mr and Mrs G.A. Randall of 4, Ash Cottages, Claygate, Surrey. Surrey Comet January 11th 1919 Private W. Randall Ox. and Bucks Light Infantry third son of Mr & Mrs G. Randall 4, Ash Cottages, Claygate who died from pneumonia on December 6th at Salonica where he had been serving for over three years.

Benjamin Randall is my great grandfather. His son, Harry Randall, migrated to Australia as a young man. One of his sons, Alan Robert Randall, was my father. In 1978 I was in England, and my father's first cousin, Dorothy Hayllar, took me to visit my great grandparents grave at the church in Claygate. My grandfather, Harry, was born in Chalfont St Giles.
