Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am currently doing a research project for college of ancestors of Joseph William Smith Hird who went to William Turners all boys school (now known as Redcar College)and died as a Second Lieutenant, North Staffordshire Regiment. Age: 33. I am in the process of creating a family tree on ancestry.co.uk and any other information that you have would help me with this process. Thankyou!
