Mother was of a branch of my Quick family whose roots are Brushford Somerset mid 1700's. George was born 16 Feb 1906 in Poughhill, devon where father was working at the time. Birth date and those of his sibs were provided by father William himself who enlisted in the ASC 1918 at age 44 to help the war effort. Admirable! George married Hilda May Beer in Atherington 1934. The newspaper report in the North Devon Journal of Oct 18 states that Hilda was the adopted daughter of M/M J. Stephens of Tray Lane. |
