Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

John William Winstone is my brother-in-law of 2nd cousin 3x removed but a fascinating man. Born in England, he went to America and fought in the Indian wars from Kansas to Montana. I have records of him being buried in Fort Shaw, MT, USA, then approved to be reinterred at The Custer Battlefield cemetery on the Crow Agency reservation in Montana. I'm assuming his 'burial' back in Cheltenham with his parents was ceremonial rather than physical remains burial. I'm not sure. Thank you for your help.
