Amos Appleyard is related to Ordery/Audrey Appleyard was sentenced to 7 years and sent to Australia (for stealing handerkerchiefs). She married Sergeant John Gowen one of the First Fleeters to Australia. They are my husband's ancestors. Ordery's grandparents James and Audrea Appleyard are also buried at the churchyard. Amos Appleyard was also a Methodist Church pioneer.

I am related to Amos Appleyard through his sister Audrey, who was transported to Sydney for 7 years for theft. Audrey married John Gowen, who was a Marine Corporal who sailed to Australia in the First Fleet.
