Ralph & Isabella are my 4th Great Grandparents and whilst I have seen this pic several times on other distant cousins family trees on Ancestry.com it is too small text to be able to transcribe the wording on the headstone beyond Ralph Curry - Sailmaker. Thank you so much for offering this service it is greatly appreciated as live a long way from Hartlepool and never been able to visit, maybe one day as am researching as much as I can about my ancestral line. many thanks Alison

A prominent feature of the Headland, St Hilda's church was built in the late twelfth century but the south doorway shows in its decoration that it belonged to an earlier Norman church.
