To add to an ancestry.com family tree. Lieutenant Charles Turing Beatson is son of Major General Alexander Beatson, Governor of St Helena, whose mother was granddaughter of Sir Alexander Wedderburn of Blackness, Baronet. Both Lieutenant Charles Beatson's Father and at least one of his brothers served in the Honourable East India Company. His aunt was a well known pastellist, as well as his great-aunt, Catherine Read.
