Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Hello, I am searching for the family of my great-grandfather, Joseph Cauvin, who was born about 1860. He married my great-grandmother, Ersilia Paganucci, from Arce, Italy where their daughter, my grandmother, Ersilia Cauvin, was born. They also had two sons named Guilermo (William) and Carlo (Charles). Following Joseph Cauvin's untimely death, my great-grandmother and her children moved to America. I was told by my mother that Joseph Cauvin was a French Marquis and worked as an architect. He died when he was 38 years old and he is buried near, but not in, the village of Arce, Italy. (I have a photo of his gravestone which my mother and father found during a trip to Italy in 1967.) I was told by my mother that Joseph Cauvin's family were merchants in Cannes, France. Through Internet searches, I have discovered that there was a Mayor of Peymeinade, France, named Joseph Cauvin and there is a library located on 4, avenue joseph cauvin in Peymeinade. This man may have been a relative, but I am not sure. I'm having a great deal of difficulty finding information about my great-grandfather's family because of the distance, separated by an ocean, that makes it impossible to travel easily from America to France, and of course, the language barrier is an issue since I am not fluent in French. I am grateful to you and your company for any help you may be able to render in my search for this family. This gravestone photo may be a possible start to finding more clues to this man's past. Many thanks in advance for your kind assistance. Sincerely, Elizabeth Regan
