Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Stephen and Mary Coates were my great great grandparents. They were my father's father's father's parents. Stephen Coates was christened March 2, 1817 in Osmotherley with parents John and Eleanor Coates. John was from Kildale and Eleanor (Wake) was from Cowton. Stephen married Mary Bulmer May 10, 1843 in St Crux, York. Mary Bulmer was from Thimbleby and was christened Nov 15, 1818 in Osmotherley with parents John and Elizabeth (Appleton). Stephen and Mary lived in Osmotheley at the time of the 1861 census and earlier and lived in Marton at the time of the 1871 census. They had at least 7 children in Osmotherley between 1844 and 1859. One was Joseph, born in 1850 and also buried in Marton cemetery in 1900. Another was my great grandfather, John Thomas born in 1859.
