He married Eliza Havers and had 9 children (Robert, Charles, William, Charlotte, Fanny, Maria, Mary, Emily, Eliza). He was a Master Carpenter, employing 4 men in 1851, but declared bankrupt in 1862. The Havers family are related to Nigel Havers and his father Baron Havers who was Lord Chancellor under Margaret Thatcher.
