Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

On behalf of descendant of Thomas Walker Baird I have been asked to offer a miniature of him to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. There is direct provenance through the family but we need further genealogical evidence to establish that the miniature is likely indeed to be a portrait of T.W.Baird. I am in Edinburgh only for a week and could not find the monument when I looked for it a couple of days ago. The only online image I can find is very low-reg and I hope something clearer may be available.
