Douglas Albert Lewcock
1990721918first name on monumentI believe Douglas Lewcock came from Hampton Hill, possibly Windmill Road, where he got to know the Britton and Maiden families. He fought in Malaya, I think with the East Surreys, where he was taken captive by the Japanese and forced to work on the Death Railway along with George Britton, one of the few survivors of the Singapore Hospital Massacre. Upon his return he was George's best man upon his marriage in 1949. Douglas was married to (Madge?) and lived in Molesey. His wife survived him. I think he had a daughter, Michelle.

Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

The calculated dates of birth should be treated with caution as in many cases it can be one year out.

The calculated dates of birth should also be treated with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate.

The names above are all the names that are listed on the grave monument. It is most likely that only the entries with dates and ages are interred in the grave.
