I have been doing my family history and my wife's (Constance Joan nee Cox) family history. She was born in Bideford in 1942, and these Brownscombes are in her tree. I should very much like to add to the data I already have on this family, and in other areas where I have further information.

George's brother Edwin (my ggg grandfather) was, at one time (1860's), in Inglewood, Victoria, Australia. He apparently went bankrupt, as a store-keeper while there. Newspaper reports at the time mention a George Brownscombe, also a store-keeper having trouble with partnerships, the law and bankruptcy at this same time. A coincidence? Perhaps someone can help. This information is all detailed on the Trove database.
