I have a piece of "detached genealogy" in a family bible It lists a number of Stanford Baptisms and marriages in Lingfield Surrey 1676 1780 verified from the Lingfield registers. Then there is gap and entries then resume from 1825. I am trying to bridge the gap :- The bible/parishe registers record:- 11-4-1676 Thomas son of Edward Stanford 8-9-1702 William Son of Thomas 27-4-1727 William married Anne Harman baptisms Mary 11-2-1727 bur 5-4-1728 Elizabeth 2-10-1732 William 1`3-12-1735 John 21-4-1744 Richard 24-1 William married Mary Martin 23-4-1760 baptisms Elizabeth 7-2-1762 Mary 20-2-1762 Anne 23--3-1764 bur 22-5-1764 Sarah 5-10-1765 bur 1-6-1760 Mary was widowed and married Thpomas Messenger 23-4-1760 children Hannah b 1776 died 1777 Sarah 1776 d 1781 Then there is a gap in the bible until 29-8-1825 James Webb married Mary Martin at St Martin's Lambeth Surrey. - from whom my wife has established descent
