Lt.-Col. William Cloves Tamplin V.D. (1834-1893) of the 1st Volunteer Battalion Royal Sussex Regt. He was the son of Henry Pagden Tamplin and Hannah Anderson, and was baptised on the 11th of April1834 in St. Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex, England. He was the head of Tamplin & Sons Brewery Brighton. He married Henrietta Christiana Schneider on the 8th of November 1865 in St. Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex, England. He died aged 59 on the 27th of July 1893 at Brighton, Sussex, England.
