The above results include all the surnames, maiden names and family names for the name BROWN that are held within the GPR database.

A name listed within double quotes (e.g. A F E "Frank" in the above list) is either a nickname or pet name.

If a person you searching for is not listed then have a look at the alternative spellings of the surname BROWN by looking at all the surnames starting with the letters BR.

If that fails then use the Full Name Search with just the surname BROWN.This will give you similar names as well as entries for maiden and family names.

Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

You should treat the calculated dates of birth with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate. The dates and ages on many monuments are also often hard to read. It is therefore important to use the dates as guides as they may be incorrect.

The same person may appear many times in the above list. This is because a person can easily be listed on many different monuments. For instance, a person could be listed on their own grave as well as on the gravestone monuments of their children and their spouse. Occasionally names will be duplicated because the monument has in error been photographed and indexed twice.

Where a relationship is shown as unknown, this usually means that parts of the monument are illegible and relationship cannot be read.

Where no relationship is given this means that this is normally the first name on the monument. All the relationships on any particular monument relate to this first named individual. Relationships will only be listed in the above table of results if show maximum detail has been selected.

Gravestone Pic

Thank you so much for the help in sizing the picture so nice to be able to view the gravestone especially when you live so far away and will probably never get back to England to see for my self . Thank you.

Thanks for a great service

Within hours of requesting an image, an email arrived from Charles Sale with the link to a high definition picture - far better service than most commercial sites. The image was clear and sharp. Sadly the tombstone was less so. Time had taken its toll and the lettering was virtually illegible. But that really is not the point. Far better to find out that the hoped for family information isn't available than to waste time hoping it is. Once again, thanks for an invaluable service.

Thank you so much for allowing me to see the gravestone showing some details of my father's parents and sister, whom I never met. My late brother was named after my father, and now I see also after my grandfather. My father, Robert Brown, died in Bangour Hospital on 25th June 1993, aged 72. I belong to the Poppy Trail Trio who are doing a poppy trail in our cemetery chapel at Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. We lost approx 300 men from the town in WW1 & are placing a poppy cross for each one on the specially made boards in the chapel. Also we are doing a document for each soldier. This is not always easy as so many records were burned. To get a photo of a gravestone from a churchyard so far away from us is brilliant & will add to our folders that the documents are kept in. Thank you so much for providing this. We are very grateful.

Family Research

I have conducted Family tree research in different areas of the country for many, many years. Volunteers who look the records of burial sites and head stones play a very part in conservation both of the sites and records. It's also a help when a researcher has to travel a long way and no time is wasted. Having got the information strived for, in general people don't mind paying an amount in the box when visiting.
