Who died March 5th 1908 whilst bravely attempting to rescue the miners entombed in the Hampstead Collery Staffordshire. This monument was erected by the workmen employed at Pope and Pearsons Collerey in recognition of the brave deed and self sacrifice shown by their fellow workman.
