Fred is the son of John, NOT brother. Frederick J Sheldrake is his son, and Frederick William is his grandson, who is commemorated here. An earlier transcription before the stone was damaged reads: In Memory of John C. Sheldrake (for fifty years an inhabitant of this parish) who departed this life 8 March 1859, aged 72 years. In the midst of life we are death. Also, Frederick William son of Frederick J. and Hannah Sheldrake and grandson of the above who departed this life 8 March 1860, aged 15 months. Sleep on my child: I too will shortly come and sleep with thee: and together we shall awake. Frederick J[oseph] Sheldrake and wife Hannah are buried elsewhere
