Herbert John Glennie was born on 22 January 1860. Before moving to Hawley he had served as Vicar of St Margaret's, Ilkely from 1908 to 1922, Rector of Goldsborough, Yorks, 1904 to 1908 and before tht vicar of Holbeck, Leeds. Herbert died on 18 Oct 1926 in Wokingham, Berkshire.
