I find it interesting that there is a monument for Pocahontas and John Rolfe as well as her father Pohantan since I know none of them were buried in St. Mary's cemetery. It's seems as if the commemorative monument must have been placed to acknowledge that John Rolfe was from that village and his wife Pocahontas visited there with him in 1617 or so and that they both contributed much to the Britain's Virginia Colony.
