2602351501Emma was the daughter of Jane Lindsell(nee Turner - Turners of Sandon), sister to Ellen who was born in 1886 and died in 1919(giving birth to daughter Nelly)and to brothers William and Frederick. Emma never married. Unfortunately itīs not known where Jane Lindsell is buried in East Hanningfield churchyard. Jane was a well-liked person in the village and was the oldest member of the Womenīs Institute in East Hanningfield when it opened in 1926. At least one of Janeīs ancestors was buried in the graveyard of the old church in East Hanningfield

260143751WW1 roll of honour - Royal Artillery, Battle of the Somme(deaf as a result of the guns, Trench Feet from the mud and had war nightmares ever after) Born 1884 - died 1966. Younger brother of William Lindsell. They were sons of Jane Lindsell(nee Turner)who lived in a cottage in Back Lane and during a period was post-woman in East Hanningfield. Frederick remained a bachelor, living with his mother in Back Lane and later in 2, Shepherds Cottages in Old Church Road. He worked as a farm labourer, hedger and ditcher. Gentle and good-hearted, he never spoke of his dreadful World War One experiences(as remembered by his grand-nephew Terence)
