Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.
You should treat the calculated dates of birth with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate.
The dates and ages on many monuments are also often hard to read.
It is therefore important to use the dates as guides as they may be incorrect.
The same person may appear many times in the above list.
This is because a person can easily be listed on many different monuments.
For instance, a person could be listed on their own grave as well as on the gravestone monuments of their children and their spouse.
Occasionally names will be duplicated because the monument has in error been photographed and indexed twice.
Where a relationship is shown as unknown, this usually means that parts of the monument are illegible and relationship cannot be read.
Where no relationship is given this means that this is normally the first name on the monument.
All the relationships on any particular monument relate to this first named individual.

Thank you for providing this service to people overseas (I am in Canada). I am researching for a friend, who is actually in England, so I hope to provide her with the information on where to go to view the headstone of her ancestor.
It is a fascinating journey and I am just learning the lay of the land in England.
Again, many thanks for your work.

Many thanks. Once again you have been able to fill in some blanks with the photos from your website.
Many thanks indeed for allowing me to view the Shepherd/Onions memorial in St Mary & St Leonard Churchyard at Wombridge. I have only recently found the Shepherd line in my family tree from my maternal great grandmother Esther Shepherd born Tipton 1806 to Johne Schiphird born Perthshire 1540. For 200 years the Shepherds lived and worked in Shropshire mainly at Much Wenlock, Little Wenlock and Wombridge.
The above was the first labour councilor elected to Thornaby-on-Tees Town Council. He was a carpenter by trade and I believe at one time a trade union official. In the 1930s he became a full time political agent for the Labour Party in the Stockton-on-Tees Constituency. He was instrumental in the defeat of Harold Macmillan (later P.M.) in the 1945 Election seeing George Chetwynd returned to Westminster as the M.P.
I am the oldest grandchild of the above couple who had two sons and five grandchildren.

What a great site. I have received many images from your site but requesting my grandparents gravestone was particulary special. I knew where they were buried but llive some distance from there.

what a great service to offer!thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work
I live in the United States and will probably never see my "Home land" in person, this makes researching my family history very difficult.
Having a site like this means WORLDS to me,
you allow me to travel the blustery cemetaries of Scotland from the warmth and comfort of my home...all while enjoying a cup of tea!
Thank you for making the journey for me.
