About the RANDALL names held within the GPR

It is quite likely that there are also entries available for alternative spellings of this name. It is very easy for you to check to see if there are any alternative spellings: you just need to look at the page that shows all the names listed under the starting letter (R in this case) of the surname you are interested in.

The RANDALL name may also be found within either maiden or family names stored within the GPR.

If you click on a particular name or GPR reference number above you will see details of what information is held for that particular grave monument. If there is a high quality image available then you will be able to order a free copy of it.

If there is a blank in the relationship column above then it means that this person is the first named individual on the grave monument.

If you are interested in ordering a number of different images from different graves monuments, it may help if you list in grave order so that everyone mentioned on the same monument are listed together.

Please note that all ages and dates of birth listed in the above list that are shown in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

You should treat the calculated dates of birth with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate. The dates and ages on many monuments are also often hard to read. It is therefore important to use the dates as guides as they may be incorrect.

The same person may appear many times in the above list. This is because a person can easily be listed on many different monuments. For instance, a person could be listed on their own grave as well as on the gravestone monuments of their children and their spouse. Occasionally names will be duplicated because the monument has in error been photographed and indexed twice.

Where a relationship is shown as unknown, this usually means that parts of the monument are illegible and relationship cannot be read.

Where no relationship is given this means that this is normally the first name on the monument. All the relationships on any particular monument relate to this first named individual.

If there is no burial date then it is likely that they are not buried at this location. Please note that the GPR records ALL names on monuments.

Willian Arthur Randall and Mary Ann Randall (nee Neat)

My name is Michael Randall. I am from Canada. My great great parents were Edmund Randall and Catherine Randall nee, Winter). His son is William William Randall (wife Mary Ann Neat). His grand son is Sidney Lester Randall (wife Helen Wilkins). His great grand son which is my father Peter Normand Randall who lived in Claygate, England. My father moved to Canada in 1947 with all is immediate family. My grand father, Sidney Lester Randall died in 1938 and he was burried in the Holy trinity church graveyard in Claygate. My father never returned to England. I went to England 3 years ago and I visited the graveyard in Claygate where Edmund and Catherine are also burried. I don't know relatives in England. I would be interested to have information about family trees starting with Edmund 1842-1926 and Catherine 1836-1897. All information would be appreciated. Looking forward for a response! Thank you!

Edmund and Catherine Randall

I have just received the images of the two gravestone inscriptions I had requested for my great grandparents who lived in Claygate. Thank you very much for the speedy response for which I am very grateful. The clarity of the pictures is also much appreciated. Long may your service continue as it is a valuable resource which I have only just discovered.

An extremely useful source

Thank-you very much for the Randall gravestone picture this is a unique service particularly as this information will and is beginning to die through decay of gravestones or churchyards! You have my admiration for the time and, yes, cost that you must give to this service. If I thought that I could devote some time to photographing our local church I would but I would not want to start something which I could not finish. The number of gravestones here is quite daunting. Again many thanks
