Margaret Slater was her maiden name. She married Amos on 31 August 1840 at All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne. She is a widow in the 1871 and 1881 England Censuses living with her son John. She died, age 62, in the last quarter of 1883. According to LDS she was christened on 16 Sept 1821 in Tanfield and her parents were Stephen John Slater and Mary.
