This stone reads: In loving memory of Greville Tyndall Jones of Hawewood Linthorpe Died March 6th 1918 Aged 53 Years Also of LT Max Greville Jones MC 1st N F ATT RAF Eldest son of Greville Tyndall and Ada Jones Killed in Action in France June 12th 1918 Aged 24 years Also his wife Ada Greville Jones Died Vancouver B C Aug 3rd 1934 Aged 71 Born in Dec 1864 in St Dogmaels, Cardigan, Wales. Eldest son if Rev Taliesin T Jones, Baptist Minister. Two sisters and three brothers. Family lived for many years in Rhymney, Monmouthshire, where Greville worked in iron and steel industry. Moved to Middlesbrough some time early in 1890s. Married (Elizabeth) Ada Petchell there in 1893. Manager at Bell Brothers Works. A mason of Ferrum Lodge. After his death his two surviving sons (Erich and Percy) and his widow emigrated to Canada (British Columbia).
