Mary Ellen Skeggs was the sister of Rev Tom Skeggs, born on 25 December 1853 in London and died in November 1939, aged 85. She married her guardian Alexander Stead in March 1878,who died in 1896. They had 2 children who both died young.She may have asked to be buried next to her brother Tom and sister-in-law Minnie who coincidentally also died in the same month of November 1939.
