Chryssie Watson Newlands was born in 1860 in Glasgow. She married Thomas Leggat in Camlachie (Glasgow)and when he died in 1900, she took up with John Cockburn of Cambuslang in Lanarkshire. They married on 27.09.1901 in Cambuslang. She died on 19.03.1929 at, 13, Wester Coates Gardens,Edinburgh, of carcinoma of the gall bladder and liver.
